Eighteen dogs and a slate of various items – several guns, bows and arrows and multiple knives – were seized by Cook County sheriff’s police during a drug investigation earlier this week, authorities said.
On Wednesday, the department’s Organized Crime Investigators executed a search warrant in the 1400 block of Deer Creek Lane in Ford Heights following a drug sales investigation, officials said in a Facebook post. Investigators recovered the following at the scene:
Two men, Jason and Jermaine Thomas were both taken into custody. Authorities said neither had a Firearm Owners Identification Card or a concealed carry license.
Jason Thomas was charged with Jason Thomas with manufacturing/delivery of cocaine, possession of cocaine and felon in possession of a weapon, sheriff’s police said. The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office charged Jermaine Thomas with four counts of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon.
Both were ordered to remain in custody at the Cook County Jail after their initial court appearance on Friday. The dogs were handed over to Cook County Animal Control.
