ROCHESTER, N.Y. — This week on Rochester in Focus, we’re addressing a very sensitive topic: suicide.
Just last month, here in Rochester during Christmas, a transgender man took his life, the impetus for doing this show. Suicide is the 11th leading cause of death in the United States, and today our guests will delve into this important issue.
First, we revisit a story from four years ago when Jennifer Lewke spoke with a mother whose son died by suicide in a very public way. Then, we speak with mental health professionals about warning signs and ways to help prevent suicide.
