What? How? In what world?
Much like the last game between these two, the grades needed to be rewritten after the game went final! This game was the Cardiac Bears on steroids. Somehow, some way, the Bears figured out a way to beat the Packers again. The Bears were clutch, the Packers choked, and we’re moving on to the Divisional Round! BEAR DOWN!
Bears Instant Grades
Offense
QB Caleb Williams | B
How? Caleb Williams looked a little rattled, uncomfortable, and like he was pressing after the first two drives of the football game. But he kept fighting, he got over his frustration, and the Iceman put his cape on when needed and picked up the win.
RB Kyle Monangai & D’Andre Swift | B-
The Bears couldn’t really get the run game going. They didn’t really give it much of a chance, but when they ran the ball, it was wildly inconsistent. Both backs made some big plays, and Swift found the endzone. The consistency wasn’t there, but the playmaking was in the second half.
WR DJ Moore | B+
He made a few big catches early, got pretty invisible for a bit, but made the biggest play of the game when it mattered most, and for the second consecutive time beat the Green Bay Packers with a clutch touchdown.

Luther Burden has a very promising career ahead of him, but this was potentially his worst game as a Bear. He and Caleb were not on the same page all night. He made a nice block late and wasn’t totally invisible, but it wasn’t up to the standard he set for himself over the last few weeks.
TE Cole Kmet | C
He didn’t figure much into the passing game tonight, but he was a very effective blocker.
TE Colston Loveland | A
He made some catches as the game went on, but started slow. He was the best Bear on the offensive side of the ball in this game.
Offensive Line | C+
They struggled to run the ball against a team that was gashed on the ground in their last meaningful game against Baltimore a few weeks ago. Also, it felt like Caleb Williams was pressured in the pocket a lot more than he had been in recent weeks.
Defense
Defensive Line | C
First half was an F, second half was an A. So, we meet in the middle! Austin Booker flashed in a very good way tonight.
Linebackers | C
First half was an F, second half was an A. So, we meet in the middle!
Secondary | C
First half was an F, second half was an A. So, we meet in the middle! Kyler Gordon was laboring but made a difference. Tyrique Stevenson was noticeable.
Special Teams
K Cairo Santos | A
He was perfect tonight.
P Tory Taylor | N/A
When Caleb Williams told Tory Taylor on draft day he wouldn’t punt much, he wasn’t lying!
Bears Coaching
Ben Johnson | B+
I can’t give him an A because the first half was clearly marked by a lot of impulsive, panicked decision-making, but like his quarterback, he figured it out when he needed to and guided his team to the franchise’s biggest win in a very long time.
Dennis Allen | C
First half was an F, second half was an A. So, we meet in the middle! His halftime adjustments were great, but waiting to get to Kyler Gordon and Tyrique Stevenson made very little sense.
