Several costumes from iconic blockbuster and Broadway sensations including “Wicked,” “Hamilton” and “West Side Story” will soon be on display at a Chicago museum.
Starting January 19, the “Crafting Character: The Costumes of Paul Tazewell” exhibit will open at Chicago’s Griffin Museum of Science and Industry, located at 5700 South DuSable Lake Shore Drive.
Here’s a look at some of the costumes that will be on display:
Various costumes from the “Wicked” movie including: Glinda’s pink bubble dress and Elphaba’s Emerald City dress Janelle Monae MET Gala looks Costumes from Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story,” including Anita’s yellow dress Costumes from Broadway’s “Hamilton,” including the Schuyler Sisters’ Winter’s Ball gowns; Hamilton, Jefferson and Burr’s suits; and King George III’s outfitIn addition to the costumes on display, the exhibit features narration and video, photos and sketches that give a behind-the-curtain look at how Tazewell’s designs came to life.
The exhibit is included with general admission to the museum.
