LOS ANGELES — UCLA has yet to take its foot off the transfer portal pedal.
Saturday was yet another day of full speed ahead on transfer commitments – hauling in another five players – to bring the Bruins’ total from the transfer portal to 30 players. As of Saturday afternoon, UCLA ranks 19th in the 247Sports ranking and 12th on On3’s ranking of transfer portal recruiting classes.
The highest-profile commit of the bunch came Saturday afternoon when South Carolina wide receiver transfer Brian Rowe Jr. committed to join the Bruins. Rowe, a former four-star recruit, started four games and played in 11 games for the Gamecocks while building collegiate experience playing in the SEC.
Rowe caught 19 passes for 149 yards and a touchdown in 2025, including a game against College Football Playoff semifinalist Ole Miss in which the North Carolina native snagged four catches for 45 receiving yards. The 5-foot-11 wideout joins Michigan’s Semaj Morgan, San Jose State’s Leland Smith, Florida’s Aidan Mizell and James Madison’s Landon Ellis in helping to round out the Bruins’ new receivers corps.
The Bruins’ first commit Saturday, however, came just after midnight on the East Coast when Notre Dame linebacker Anthony Sacca verbally committed to UCLA, which the Southern California News Group can confirm.
247Sports reported that Sacca holds a relationship with Bruins defensive coordinator Colin Hitschler, who also comes from East Coast ties. Sacca played high school football at St. Joseph’s Prep in Pennsylvania, and redshirted his freshman season at Notre Dame.
Among other Saturday transfers, UCLA picked up commitments from defensive backs Jhase McMillan (Montana State) and Orsis Gilbert (Connecticut) and added its to tight end tally – three overall – by grabbing Brayden Loftin (Kansas State). All three players announced their commitments via X on Saturday.
McMillan, a 5-foot-9 corner, comes from the FCS champions, for whom he recorded 31 tackles and two tackles for loss in 2025. His blocked field goal with under a minute left to keep the game tied in the FCS title game helped secure a 35-34 overtime victory over Illinois State.
Gilbert, a 5-foot-9 corner from Georgia, played sporadically under former UCLA football coach Jim Mora as a freshman with UConn, tallying 11 tackles, three passes defended and a forced fumble.
Loftin, on the other hand, could be the receiving tight end UCLA was searching for to replace Hudson Habermehl. The 6-foot-5 incoming senior tallied six receptions for 55 yards in 2025, after grabbing 11 receptions for 125 yards and two touchdowns in 2024.
Landing spots for former Bruins
Defensive back Jamir Benjamin transferred to Rice on Saturday, defensive back Andre Jordan Jr. announced his commitment to Auburn and linebacker Isaiah Chisom signed with Oklahoma State.
Out of the trio, Chisom leaves the biggest gap for the Bruins. In 2025, the former Oregon State transfer tallied the second-most tackles on the Bruins with 84 total.
Jordan was an All-Big Ten honorable mention in 2025, while Benjamin played in all 12 games albeit mostly on special teams.
