MTV Star Claims Jersey Shore Cast Killed a Secret Vegas Spinoff

A former MTV star has tea to spill about a reality TV show that never came to be. After the 2019 dating show Double Shot at Love starring Pauly DelVecchio and Vinny Guadagnino, a Jersey Shore spinoff titled Vegas Shore was reportedly in the works.

But according to one Double Shot at Love star, the Jersey Shore cast shut it down.

In a since-deleted tweet re-shared by Derynn Paige, user @KIRBYREED claimed: "It’s been long enough that I can spill this tea, but this show was supposed to be called Vegas Shore and they were promised multiple seasons, but allegedly a few OG cast members complained to MTV. This is kinda backed up by how they reacted to the canceled Jersey Shore reboot."

According to the original poster, there were a lot of "behind-the-scenes politics" that were hidden from the public. "The Jersey Shore cast did everything to get it cancelled," they added.

Former would-be Vegas Shore cast member Paige, 32, later reposted the claims and added her own perspective.

"Most people ask what happened to our cast/show and this is 100% the truth," she wrote over the tweet, shared to her Instagram Stories.

"We were never allowed to say anything about it, but we all quit our jobs and flew out to Vegas to film our show called Vegas Shore. There is so much more to the story. [Brittani Schwartz, another Double Shot at Love star], should we do a tell-all and break the internet?"

Parade reached out to Paige and Schwartz for comment, but did not receive a response by the time of publication.

The timing of these claims aligns with what was happening inside MTV in 2022. In May of that year, Deadline confirmed a reboot of Jersey Shore titled Jersey Shore 2.0. Almost immediately, members of the original cast took to social media to publicly slam the idea, arguing that it would "exploit" the legacy of the show.

Not long after, MTV quietly scrapped the reboot. Per TMZ at the time, multiple sources connected to Jersey Shore 2.0 said production had been "paused," with insiders suggesting the sudden halt stemmed from cast issues or behavioral concerns.

Photos later showed that cameras and lighting equipment had been removed from the Atlantic City property where filming was set to begin.

TMZ also reported that MTV viewed the original cast’s reaction as "ungrateful," pushing back on claims that the network had been struggling prior to Jersey Shore.

"It’s disgusting they’d take a swipe at the network," one representative allegedly said.

Was Vegas Shore collateral damage in that same fallout? Another spinoff quietly brushed aside amid behind-the-scenes politics and franchise protection?

The Jersey Shore cast has experienced continued success with the spinoff (or reboot, depending on who you ask) Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. There was also some success with the four seasons of Floribama Shore, which featured a new cast of reality TV hopefuls in Panama City Beach, Florida. It ran from 2017 until 2021, and the Jersey Shore cast didn't seem to have a problem with that spinoff, considering Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenni "JWoww" Farley hosted the reunion specials.

But unlike Floribama Shore, which carved out its own identity without threatening the original cast’s legacy, Vegas Shore would have lived much closer to the Jersey Shore brand. And if these claims are true, that proximity may have been its undoing.
