WEBSTER, N.Y. — The Buffalo Bills are gearing up for their playoff opener in Jacksonville on Sunday, but fans in Webster kicked off the celebration early with a hype party at the Webster Parks and Recreation Center.
Katie Kovar, director of Webster Parks and Recreation, said, “We’re getting ready to kick off playoff weekend. And we’re super excited to kind of cheer on the Bills so we invited everybody in for a big hype party.”
Kovar explained that the event had been in the works, but they waited to see if the Bills would make the playoffs. “Luckily for us, the Bills did make the playoffs. So we have some vendors here selling some great goods. We are doing donations to the Hope,” she said.
The event was designed to be family-friendly, Kovar said. “The Webster Recreation Center is great for all ages. But kids tonight in particular, you know, they can always go to a Bills game. So this is a really family-friendly event where they can get into the spirit with their family.”
Bills fan Carson Gaspar expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “We have to go all out. All out. It’s the playoffs. We have to fight hard, and we just gotta be strong. We gotta get through it.”
Sunday’s kickoff in Jacksonville is set for 1 pm.
