Catholic influencer Paul Kim’s wife, Maggie Kim, is paying tribute to their 5-year-old son, Micah, one week after his death.
“It’s been one week since we had to leave the hospital. One week since it was decided that you would never step foot into our house again,” Maggie wrote via Instagram on Thursday, January 8. “Leaving you alone in that room and walking away was the most gut-wrenching thing I’ve ever had to do. Every motherly bone in my body ached at how wrong it felt.”
Maggie continued, “It’s also been one week of witnessing your little miracles. One week of seeing signs of you and feeling your little ‘hellos.’ I never expected how the pain and the consolation would go hand in hand. How each breath in my lungs would burn with the fact that we have to live on without you. And how each smile in my memory would give me visions of your smiles in Heaven.”
Despite her family’s grief over Micah’s death from a severe case of the flu, Maggie wrote that they have also “experienced a lot of peace.”
Along with the tribute, Maggie shared a photo of Micah’s hand holding hers.
Catholic Influencer Paul Kim Gives Update As Son Micah, 5, Is On Life Support
Paul shared the news of Micah’s death on December 31.
“After fighting 11 long hard days, [Micah] went home to the house of our father,” he said in a video. “We are so proud of him. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart as his dad, on behalf of my family, for all the ways you guys prayed and lifted us up during this time.”
Maggie also spoke out at the time.
Courtesy of Paul Kim/Instagram“Micah, I miss you. There is a deep, aching hole in my heart. Even though our home is filled with people, it’s too quiet without you,” she wrote via Instagram on January 2. “I keep thinking I’ll look outside and see you laughing on the swings. Or you’ll slowly open my door and walk up to my bed and that I’ll hear your sweet voice saying, ‘Mama?’”
Maggie continued, “Oh, the pain is indescribable. And yet, you have shown us in multiple ways that you are with us. It’s not the same joy as holding your hand or hearing your voice, but there is an unexplainable joy that only comes with knowing you are with Jesus. That you are in our true home. And that you are very, very happy.”
The social media personality, who also shares kids Audrey, Remy, Joey Aiden and John Paul with Paul, asked Micah to “continue to visit” her.

“You were always such a good helper and eager to make me smile. And I will keep asking for your help. My boy. I am so proud of you,” she added.
Paul, who has over 300,000 followers on Instagram, first revealed on December 21 that Micah had been rushed to the hospital in an ambulance after a “medical emergency.” A later update revealed that Micah had a severe case of the flu, which prompted sepsis and seizures. He was placed on life support, while brain scans found that activity was “not present” in his body.
“This incredibly difficult, impossible time for our family — it’s been the hardest thing I’ve ever been through in my life and it continues to be,” Paul said of Micah’s hospitalization in his December 31 video. “For those two weeks we were fighting long and hard, we were consulting legal, health, ethical teams even outside the hospital. Just to make sure we weren’t leaving any stone unturned. In many ways we were fighting for Micah to buy him as much time as possible, until he passed. As a father, that is my duty I was called to do that. Even if in God’s ultimate will it wasn’t meant for him to recover.”
