ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Applications are now being accepted for summer recreation and aquatic positions throughout the City of Rochester’s R-centers, camps, pools, and beaches.
Entry-level and management-level jobs are available for applicants aged 15 and up, with potential pay rates up to $27.91, hourly.
Qualified applicants can be contacted for interviews starting in March for jobs that will begin in June.
Summer recreation positions
Recreation Assistant Senior Recreation Assistant Day Camp SupervisorThe listed job positions require a high school diploma or GED.

Summer aquatics positions
Lifeguard or Beach Lifeguard Lifeguard Lieutenant or Beach Lifeguard Lieutenant Lifeguard Captains or Beach Lifeguard Captains Locker Room Attendant Pool Attendant Beach Manager Asst. Beach Manager Asst. Pool Manager Ground Equipment OperatorThe City of Rochester will offer lifeguard certification classes. Lifeguarding positions start at $20.60.
Starting in March and ending in May, classes will be at the Trenton and Pamela Jackson R-Center.
Residents in the City of Rochester will have free lifeguarding courses. Non-resident youth will have to pay $75, and non-resident adults will pay $125.
A Water Safety Instructor course will cost $175 to city residents and $400 to non-city residents. A certification for this job is required.
