ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – The Nazareth women’s hockey team has achieved a perfect 13-0 record this season, making them the only undefeated Division III women’s hockey team in the country as of Friday.
“We’re still the only D III Women’s Hockey team that’s undefeated this year. That’s kind of a cool thing,” said senior Corsica Skibinski.
The team’s success follows several tough postseason eliminations – in the conference tournament and NCAA Tournament – which have motivated the players to excel this season.

Skibinski emphasized the importance of continuous improvement.
“We’re not settling for this 13-0 streak that we have going on right now. We know you have to reflect on what we did good and what we can still improve on to be the best that we can,” Skibinski said.
The team approaches each game as a new challenge, focusing on immediate goals rather than the overall streak.
“Every game is a new mile we’re looking dead at. We’re not looking at mile 23. We’re looking at mile 14,” said Skibinski. “Getting through that next mile and then we spend the week practicing, training to get to mile 15.”
Boettcher added that they focus on the present to avoid pressure.
“I think there can be pressure if you think too hard about it. We just don’t give it the time of day. We just focus on each rep, each drill, just one day at a time, one game at a time. We just focus on what’s right in front of us,” Boettcher said.
The team enjoys the camaraderie and competition on and off the ice.
“We reflect how fun it is to be on the ice with each other and it’s fun to win. But the fun part really does happen throughout the week. When we’re competing against each other, that’s really our toughest battle,” Skibinski said.
The Golden Flyers are set to face William Smith on Friday, with their sights set on continuing their winning streak and improving to 14-0.
