In an interview with Variety, Foster explains that when you ask ChatGPT, a popular AI software, about the franchise, the engine doesn't mention her role at all. Instead, it claims that the original film is actually the 2003 remake starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis. The AI engine reports that the second film was the most recent 2025 remake. To ChatGPT, the 1976 film is nonexistent.
"If you go on to ChatGPT, or any of those things, and you say, like, 'Hey, what are the Freaky Friday movies?' They say there was an original, which is the original with Jamie Curtis and then there's the second one that just came out, and they don't mention me," Foster says. "AI has no recollection of the 70s."
