Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi is ushering in a new era, and she’s not pretending she’s the same person viewers met more than a decade ago.
The Shahs of Sunset alum returns to Bravo in The Valley: Persian Style, a reimagined series that reunites several OGs (Mercedeh Javid, Reza Farahan) while introducing a more mature, emotionally layered chapter of their lives.

"It feels very different. Very new, but very necessary," Gharachedaghi tells Parade. “We're not the same people that we used to be back when Shahs of Sunset started. So it's nice to be able to sort of take that pause and then start fresh again with our audience."
At 44, GG is now a mom to a 5-year-old son named Elijah and is far less interested in reliving her past (even if the internet insists on doing it for her.) One of the most talked-about moments early in the season? GG admitting she spends thousands of dollars a month on marijuana.
"Hearing myself say that out loud, I'll be honest with you, I was like, oh, wow. Like, that's a lot of money to spend every month on weed," she admits.
Still, she stands by her choice, especially as it relates to her rheumatoid arthritis.
"I wake up around 4 a.m. every day. I would say by 5:30, my first joint, you know, is getting started, and it just keeps me sort of calm," she explains. "It keeps the pain away in my body, keeps nausea away. It keeps me from doing crazy things. So I'm okay with it."

Finances are a major storyline this season, including GG’s credit issues and the long-standing rumor that she lives off her father.
“I haven’t been on my dad’s bankroll in a very, very long time,” she says firmly, reiterating that she has several businesses.
Still, she doesn’t apologize for having family support.
“What’s family for?” she asks. “As a mom, I would never not be there to protect my son and help him financially if he needs that help.”
Despite bad credit and a brutal Los Angeles rental market following the wildfires, GG confirms she did successfully move and has downsized from a six-bedroom to a five-bedroom home. And yes, that does mean she's had to get creative with her beloved closets. The clothes need to live somewhere, after all!
While GG has delivered plenty of explosive TV moments over the years, she says the Valley scene she’s most nervous for viewers to watch this season is her emotional reunion with her ex-husband Dennis DeSantis. GG and Dennis dated on-again-off-again for years before getting hitched in Las Vegas in November 2024. They annulled their marriage just two weeks after tying the knot.

“It was a very, very vulnerable moment for me to see him,” she says. “I wish that I could have been a little bit more rational and calm.”
GG admits she had a few cocktails to aid in her anxiety around the meet-up.
“I was really nervous. So I was having some drinks. And, you know, I was angry. I became very emotional,” GG admits. “So I wish I had a little bit more control over myself. I didn't hit anybody, thank God.”
As for now, marriage may be in GG’s past, permanently.
“I’m looking for husband number three to divorce,” she jokes, laughing. “I hope I never get married again.”
Still, she’s open to love, even if dating in L.A. feels intimidating.
“Maybe just like someone will appear for me, I don't know,” she says. “I'm supposed to be manifesting!”
The Valley: Persian Style premiered with back-to-back episodes on Thursday, Jan. 8 at 9pm ET/PT on Bravo. Episodes are available to stream next day on Peacock.
