The transfer class for Kirby Smart is quickly coming together. Three of Georgia’s 4 known transfer pledges came through on Thursday.
Former Auburn edge rusher Amaris Williams committed to the Dawgs Thursday afternoon. Earlier in the day, Georgia got positive news on the perimeter. Former Georgia Tech wide receiver Isiah Canion and former USC cornerback Braylon Conley have both verbally committed to transfer to Georgia. Both players revealed the news to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Canion is a 6-foot-4 rising junior with 2 years of eligibility remaining. He appeared in 22 games across his 2 seasons with Georgia Tech, playing in a reserve role as a true freshman before taking hold of a starting job in 2025.
This past season, Canion caught 33 passes for 480 yards and 4 touchdowns for the Yellow Jackets. In Georgia Tech’s 16-9 loss to Georgia to end the regular season, Canion had a solid day, catching 4 passes for 54 yards.
Canion primarily lined up as an outside receiver, with 89.9% of his snaps coming out wide. He did move into the slot a handful of times each game, for Georgia Tech, though. His average depth of target, per PFF, was 13.7 yards and he had 2 drops in 46 targets.
Conley is a 6-foot defensive back who spent 2 seasons at USC, redshirting in 2024, and comes to Athens with 3 years of eligibility remaining.
A Texas native, Conley was a 3-star recruit in the 2024 class. He appeared in just 1 game as a true freshman in 2024. This past season, Conley started 1 game for the Trojans earlier in the year, briefly fell out of the rotation entirely during the middle portion of the season, and then returned in Week 11 to make appearances in 3 more games.
In total, he appeared in 9 games while recording 14 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 pass breakup, and 1 forced fumble. According to PFF, he gave up 14 receptions on 19 targets for 190 yards and 2 touchdowns. He lost his spot in the rotation after giving up a 120 yards on 4 targets in the Illinois game in Week 5.
