Actress Camilla Luddington wants fans to be prepared before watching the midseason premiere of Grey's Anatomy season 22.
TV Insider reported that Luddington teased that fans can expect heartbreak when tuning into Season 22, Episode 7 ("Skyfall"), which premieres on January 8 on ABC, during a recent appearance on The View. As fans are aware, Luddington's character, Dr. Jo Wilson, is diagnosed with peripartum cardiomyopathy while pregnant with her and Dr. Atticus "Link" Lincoln's (Chris Carmack) twins. Season 22, Episode 6 ended with Wilson having emergency heart surgery.
During the January 8 View interview, Luddington shared her thoughts about her character's heart failure.
"I think what was going through my mind a lot of that episode was just [that] the character has survived so much, yeah, and she’s finally, right at that moment, about to get what she really wants. This cozy family. She already has another kid, but the whole unit of it, the whole idea of it. And I was just heartbroken that this is where she was at," said the actress in the interview.
She also revealed how she thinks fans can best cope with what unfolds in Season 22, Episode 7.
“There’s no way to prepare because it’s just unrelentless and heartbreaking, I would say, [get a] bottle of wine and therapy,” said Luddington while on The View.
On January 7, the official Grey's Anatomy Instagram account shared several pictures of Jo.

"And I was here at 200 episodes and so to be here at 450, it's a unicorn. I don't think I'll ever be part of something like this again. It's very special."
