The piece declared that she'd been iced out of several of her mom group's events and outings, leading her to eventually tell them their behavior was "so high school" and removed herself from their chat and, effectively, their lives. She also quipped that she does think the individual members "aren't bad people," except one.

While Internet sleuths began investigating Instagram follows and dissecting interviews to find any hints of shade, Tisdale's actual motherhood experience went largely ignored.

Tisdale has been open about her trials and triumphs as a mom, documenting a lot of her pregnancies, prenatal and postpartum struggles and advice on her Frenshe blog—as well as sweet details about her children growing up.

Tisdale and husband Christopher French are the proud parents of two little girls with adorably quirky names: Jupiter and Emerson.

Tisdale and French welcomed their first child, daughter Jupiter Iris French, on March 23, 2021. Tisdale, born July 2, 1985, was 35 years old at the time.

In her Frenshe blog, Tisdale recalled how difficult her post-pregnancy "fourth trimester" was after giving birth.

"Two weeks after I had Jupiter, my body went through so much trying to recover," she wrote, noting that she suffered from night sweats, bleeding, nausea and extreme back pain that lasted weeks.

"The back pain was definitely the hardest part for me, especially because I didn’t know where it was coming from," she explained. "Talking to all my doctors about this and trying to figure it out was hard as well. I felt like no one could tell me what was going on with my body and why I had extreme nausea to the point where sometimes I missed a feeding with the baby, and my husband had to supplement formula."

Tisdale and her care team eventually figured out that a medication she'd been taking postpartum was what caused her back pain, and she quickly recovered once she stopped taking it and took a different medicine from her doctor.

"The thing is, during this 'fourth trimester' you’re physically going through it, but you’re also mentally going through it," she explained. "I was lucky I didn’t have postpartum depression, but I think I was just trying to find who I am in this new role. Doing normal things like hiking and activities I love to make me feel like the 'old Ashley' aren’t too far away. I think it’s really important to talk about our real experiences and not hide the parts that aren’t so pleasant or cute enough to show on Instagram."

Tisdale revealed in a May 2025 episode of Live! With Kelly and Mark that Jupiter (affectionately nicknamed Juju) is a big fan of High School Musical and shared a clip of her daughter singing one of her character Sharpay's songs.

"It's so funny," Tisdale said on the morning talk staple. "She really loves the music. It's fun to go back and reminisce and see it, but then it's like, 'After a week, okay, we can go on to the next movie!'"

She also said that Jupiter introduced herself to her teachers as "Sharpay's daughter." Cute!

How old was Ashley Tisdale when she had her second child?

Tisdale and French had their second child, daughter Emerson, on Sept. 6, 2024, when Tisdale was 39.

In a video announcing her second pregnancy, Tisdale explained that she didn't think she wanted to have another baby after her struggles following Jupiter's birth.

"After I had Jupiter, I was like, ‘I’m not doing this again,’" she admitted. "I think it was like, physically really hard on me."

Noting that she had plantar fasciitis during the pregnancy, she said, "It just wasn't the most amazing experience. Then I started thinking about what a blessing it is to have this cute little baby come into the world."

Tisdale said Jupiter is very sensitive and "loves friends," so she didn't necessarily want her to be an only child.

Thankfully, her second pregnancy went a lot more smoothly!
