With a series that's been on as long as NBC's hit sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live, it's fair to assume the show has seen a wide array of diverse guest hosts over the years.

Though most cast members have cited their personal favorite and least favorite guest hosts to work with, former Saturday Night Live heavyweight Will Ferrell pointed to an original series cast member as the "roughest host" to appear during his time on SNL.
“The worst host was Chevy Chase,” Ferrell bluntly said in an interview in Live from New York: An Uncensored History of Saturday Night Live (via Far Out Magazine).
“He was here the first year that we were here, and then he came back the next year, and that was the kicker, the following year," the Elf actor went on to say.
Remembering his experiences working with the National Lampoon actor, Ferrell said that he could tell "something was up" when Chase first appeared for a pitch session at the start of the week prior to his appearance.
“You could just tell something was up,” Ferrell said. “I don’t know if he was on something or what, if he took too many back pills that day or something, but he was just kind of going around the room and systematically riffing.”
According to Far Out, Chase's "riffing" largely constituted insulting and making crass remarks to many of the cast and crew present in the room, most especially female writers to whom Chase allegedly made vulgar comments to.
Speaking about these offensive jokes, Ferrell recalled that he had never seen series creator Lorne Michaels "more embarrassed and red" than during this disastrous pitching session.
