The Traitors season 4s Secret Traitor reveal sees impressive overnight ratings confirmed for BBC One

**Warning: Contains spoilers for The Traitors season 4**

The Traitors season 4 pulled in an impressive audience for its fourth episode last night (7th January) as the identity of the Secret Traitor was finally revealed.

Fans had been expecting the reveal after the previous instalment of the BBC show, which aired on Saturday, had shown the mysterious red-cloaked figure heading to the turret.

And the twist certainly seems to have kept viewers on the edge of their seats, as an average of 7.3 million people tuned in to watch the instalment, according to overnight ratings.

That’s substantially higher than the season 4 premiere’s overnight viewership, which lured in an average of 6.4 million viewers.

The Secret Traitor, whose identity had been unknown to the regular Traitors, the Faithfuls and the viewing audience, was selected by host Claudia Winkleman in the opening episode of the series, and had been responsible for providing murder shortlist to the other Traitors.

However, in Wednesday’s episode, it was revealed that the secret traitor was none other than Fiona – as the contestant joined fellow Traitors Stephen and Rachel in the turret.

The unmasking of the Secret Traitor wasn’t the only revelation in Wednesday’s episode, as psychologist Ellie revealed she is Ross’s girlfriend, after he was banished.

However, Ellie kept her secret hidden from her fellow contestants and said to the camera that she plans to “avenge his death”.
