A crash in a southwest suburb of Chicago prompted the full closure of a busy road, causing traffic during afternoon rush hour Wednesday.
Around 4:50 p.m., aerial video from NBC Chicago Sky 5 showed emergency crews responding to a crash that prompted a closure of northbound and southbound lanes on Harlem Avenue in Bridgeport from West 65th Street to West 71st Street.
A car that was driven over the grassy median and into oncoming lanes of traffic could be seen in the video, with an ambulance, fire truck and several police nearby. A semi-truck could be seen sitting in the portion of Harlem Avenue that was closed.
Video showed a large traffic backup built in the area as of 5:05 p.m.
The crash occurred near the SeatGeek Stadium, located at 7000 South Harlem Avenue.
Bridgeview police responded to the crash but did not immediately provide details as to what happened.
