Angel City Football Club continued its offseason roster building with three signings, the previous two days.
Tuesday, Angel City signed midfielder Ary Borges to a three-year contract. Borges spent the last three seasons with Racing Louisville FC (53 games, six goals). Before joining NWSL, Borges played three seasons in Palmeiras (34 goals).
She has made 49 appearances for the Brazilian national team.
“She is a brave talent who always wants the ball and to control the game while also being relentless in defending and not giving her opponents a rest,” Angel City Sporting Director Mark Parsons said in a statement. “Ary brings important big game experience and competitive mentality with her. A dynamic box-to-box midfielder who has both NWSL and international experience for one of the best national teams in the world.”
On Wednesday, Angel City signed defender Karsyn Cherry to three-year contract. Cherry spent four years at Louisville, where she made 69 appearances.
“Karsyn is a ball-playing defender with a great range of passing as well as an ability to dictate play,” Parsons said. “Defensively, Karsyn is relentless in dominating duels, defending her box and defending 1v1.”
Angel City also signed Carina Lageyre, a midfielder from Duke, to a three-year contract. Lageyre made 65 appearances in four years at Duke.
“Since my first meeting with (Sporting Director) Mark (Parsons) and (coach) Alex (Straus), I was excited about their vision for the future for this organization and I am extremely thankful to be part of it,” Lageyre said in a statement. “I chose Angel City because I want to develop in a competitive training environment with a strong fan base. This team provides all the resources for us to be successful and I’m looking forward to making this city proud.”
Angel City’s current roster is at 21 players. Training for the 2026 NWSL season begins later this month.
