Shreyas Iyer has received fitness clearance from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Centre of Excellence (CoE). The Indian ODI vice-captain was selected for the India vs New Zealand series, but with an asterisk.
Shreyas was expected to be cleared to play international cricket only after he had no issues upon his return in the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy. Facing Himachal Pradesh, Shreyas scored 82 (53) while batting at number four and leading Mumbai.
