An eagle-eyed Costco fan page on Instagram, Discovering Costco, spotted the new offering, a pesto pasta salad, for $5.99 a pound in the warehouse’s prepared food section, prompting a caption that says, “Finally! A NEW prepared food has arrived at Costco! Pasta salad with pesto and mozzarella sounds like the perfect light lunch or side to grilled chicken!”

The sauce is made with imported basil from Italy, sunflower oil, sea salt, garlic, extra virgin olive oil, pine nuts, black pepper, and both Parmesan and Pecorino Romano cheese.
“Yummy,” said a commenter, prompting the page to respond that the new pasta salad “looks so fresh!”
Though the pasta salad is currently not available nationwide, a similar product is more widely available at Costco warehouses. Shakers salad from Simply Fresh comes in a caprese variety, with fresh arugula, rotini pasta, tomatoes, and fresh mozzarella cheese, all with pesto and balsamic vinaigrette.
