Devin Booker falls in 2nd round NBA All-Star voting

The NBA released the top 20 players from the second round of All-Star fan voting on Tuesday, and Phoenix Suns star guard Devin Booker has dropped to 17th in the Western Conference.

Booker dropped two spots from the first round of voting, which was released on Dec. 29. Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard and Dallas Mavericks forward Cooper Flagg passed Booker in the second round of voting.

Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic leads all players with 2,229,811 votes. The only change to the Western Conference’s top 10 vote getters is Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun passing Lakers’ guard Austin Reaves at No. 10.

The NBA All-Star voting concludes on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 9:59 p.m. MST.

The fans make up 50% of the voting. Current NBA players make up 25% of the vote, and the media makes up the final 25%. The votes will determine five starters from each conference.

Then, NBA head coaches will select the seven reserve players honored from each conference.

The selected players will be split into two U.S. teams and one international team. The three teams will play round robin games, and the two teams with the best record will advance to the championship game. If it is a three-way tie (1-1) after the three round robin games, the tiebreaker will be point differential.

Booker has played in 33 of the Suns’ 36 games this season and ranks No. 9 in points per game in the NBA. He is averaging 25.7 points per game and shooting 46.3% from the field. Booker is shooting 29.8% from 3-point range, averaging 6.3 assists per game and 3.4 turnovers per game.

The Suns guard is averaging his most turnovers since the 2019-20 season and the worst 3-point percentage of his career. However, Booker is averaging more points than six players ahead of him in the All-Star voting and has a higher field goal percentage than Doncic. Booker had 232,075 votes when the NBA released the second-round standings.

Luka Dončić and Giannis Antetokounmpo remain the leaders in their conferences in the second fan returns in NBA All-Star Voting 2026.

Booker is a four-time All-Star but was not selected last season. The Suns guard has averaged 26.5 points in his four All-Star seasons, shooting 48.3% from the field. Booker is below both of those marks so far this season.

However, the Suns have exceeded expectations this year, sitting at 21-15 on the season. Phoenix currently holds the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference and would play the Golden State Warriors in the first Play-in game if the playoffs started on Tuesday. The Suns are two games behind the Minnesota Timberwolves for the sixth seed.

    How can you vote?

Fan voting runs through Jan. 14 and is open to everyone. Fans with an NBA ID may vote once per day. There will be two days, Wednesday and Jan. 14, where each fan vote counts as three votes.

The NBA All-Star starters will be revealed on Jan. 19.
