Survivor 49 runner-up Sophi Balerdi is seemingly responding to allegations she cheated during the game.
On Monday, Jan. 5, Balerdi's co-star Sage Ahrens-Nichols accused her and Kele tribemate Jake Latimer of pre-gaming. Before the Survivor game starts, the 16 castaways and two alternates stay at Ponderosa — a sequester location on the island where the jury lives at before choosing the winner.
At Ponderosa, contestants are strictly forbidden from talking to each other so that alliances don’t form pre-game. 12 hours before the show started, two individuals were kicked off for violating this rule — leading to alternates Jason Treul and Michelle “MC” Chukwujekwu entering the game.
Ahrens-Nichols alleges that four other people participated, including Balerdi and Latimer.

Neither Balerdi nor Latimer have directly addressed the cheating allegations, however, Balerdi alluded to being unaffected by the drama via an Instagram post shared Tuesday, Jan. 6.
In the post, Balerdi shared a carousel of images from a recent vacation to the Bahamas. In Spanish, she captioned the post, "Just enjoying myself ❤️ ?."

In the comment section, Balerdi received support from her Survivor 49 castmates as well as alumni from other seasons of the reality series.
"Can’t wait to see you tonight!!!! Wanna come over and pre game? ?," quipped Survivor 45 winner Dee Valladares, to which Balerdi responded, "let’s go!!!"
"Living your best life with my boy Gabe," wrote Survivor 49's Rizo Velovic. "Can I say si mamacita?! ?." added 49 castaway Kristina Mills.
One fan commented, "I hope you had your notifications silenced for the last 24hrs ??," to which Balerdi replied, "never."

During the 49 finale, Ahrens-Nichols made it to the Final Tribal Council, where she placed in third. Balerdi came in second while Savannah Louie was crowned the Sole Survivor.
Latimer was medically evacuated on Day 6 after he was bitten by a venomous sea krait, placing 16th.
