Mizzou took a massive punch in the transfer portal on Tuesday afternoon, with star edge rusher Damon Wilson II planning on entering the portal, according to a report by On3’s Pete Nakos and Hayes Fawcett.
The reported transfer means that Wilson is on the move yet again. He’s already spent time at two different SEC locales, playing his first two years at Georgia before transferring to Mizzou for the 2025 season. Wilson made his one season in Columbia count, piling up 9 sacks this past fall to go with 23 total tackles, 9 of them solo.
Wilson also had one fumble recovery and one interception, showing his versatility and value that apparently Mizzou will be missing out on in 2026. The Florida native will have one season of eligibility left. Whatever program gets its hands on Wilson will have an impact player for next fall, with Wilson ranking as the 33rd overall pass rusher in the country in 2025, according to Pro Football Focus.

— On3 (@On3sports) January 6, 2026After a big-time high school career in Venice, Fla., Wilson was one of the most highly coveted players in the Class of 2023. He ranked as a 5-star phenom and was the 17th-ranked prospect overall in the 2023 recruiting cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
But Wilson only had 26 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries during his two years at Georgia, appearing in 26 games for the Bulldogs.
Wilson’s reported departure means that Mizzou has already lost 24 players to the transfer portal this offseason. He’s also the 2nd Mizzou edge rusher to head to the portal, with Nate Johnson being the other one.
