Former Auburn quarterback Ashton Daniels has decided on his latest collegiate destination.
The oft-traveled signal-caller told On3 on Tuesday morning that he has committed to play at Florida State for the 2026 season. Daniels saw limited action for Auburn in his one and only season on the Plains, playing in just 4 games and throwing for 797 yards with 3 touchdown passes and 2 interceptions.
The 6-foot-2, 219-pound Georgia native will have one season of eligibility remaining as he heads to Tallahassee to finish a whirlwind collegiate career. Daniels, who also rushed for 280 yards and 2 touchdowns this past season, spent the first 3 years of his college career at Stanford from 2022-24.
Now, after 1 season in the SEC, Daniels is heading back to the ACC to try to help revive a Florida State program that’s fallen on hard times in recent years.

Interestingly, there is an Auburn-Florida State connection with Malzahn, who was the Tigers head coach from 2013-20. Malzahn just completed his first season as the OC in Tallahassee, and now he’ll have a quarterback from a program he knows pretty well at his disposal in 2026.
It was a mixed bag for Daniels during those 3 seasons at Stanford, as he threw 21 touchdown passes but also tossed 20 interceptions before transferring to Auburn for the 2025 season.
