GATES, N.Y. — Christopher Dailey, the superintendent of the Gates Chili Central School District, has announced his retirement.
The board of education approved his retirement on Monday and appointed Deputy Superintendent Dr. Mitchell Ball to fill the role, effective immediately. The board says it will discuss the next steps for district leadership in the coming weeks. In a statement, the board thanked Dailey for all he’s done for the district, writing:
“Mr. Dailey has worked alongside our staff, students, families and community to strengthen the district and keep a clear focus on student learning and well-being. We are grateful for his leadership and the many contributions he has made during his tenure. We wish him and his family the very best in retirement.”
Dailey has been with the district since the 2019 to 2020 school year and Ball has been with the district since January 2020. The board says Ball brings deep knowledge of the district and a steady commitment to its goals and day-to-day operations.
“With Dr. Ball serving as interim superintendent and an experienced administrative team in place, the district will continue its work without interruption. Our entire leadership team remains in place and focused on supporting schools and keeping students’ learning and well-being at the center.”
