Ukiah, CA – Ukiah Unified School District proudly announced the November Students of the Month at a special ceremony held at Ukiah High School on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. Principals recognized 51 students from across the district’s 11 schools, honoring their academic excellence, leadership, and social-emotional growth before an audience of proud families and community members.
This month’s celebration also highlighted the district’s continued focus on attendance and engagement. Franks Zeek Elementary earned the Best Attendance Trophy for October with a rate of 95.30 percent, while Big Picture South Valley took home the Most Improved Attendance Trophy, increasing their rate to 88.44 percent, a nine percent improvement over last year.
“Every month, these students remind us what dedication and character look like,” said Superintendent Deb Kubin. “Their progress reflects the steady encouragement of their families and teachers, and the belief that every day of learning matters. We’re proud to celebrate their accomplishments and the example they set for our entire district.”
Each month’s event honors students who embody Ukiah Unified’s core values of academic commitment, leadership, and social-emotional strength, as well as schools demonstrating strong and improving attendance rates—a key factor in lifelong learning success.
