Susan Lucci is commemorating the day in her life when everything changed.
56 years ago on Jan. 5, 1970, the beloved soap opera All My Children premiered on ABC, marking the beginning of a historic run that would last for four decades.

Taking to Instagram to commemorate the anniversary on Monday, Jan. 5, Lucci, 79, shared a montage of set photos from throughout her years on the show, during which she portrayed the iconic character, Erica Kane. Lucci played the role all the way until the show ended in 2011, establishing herself as a soap opera queen with a 41-year reign.
Her post on Monday included a number of stills from the hit daytime drama, featuring an array of her former cast mates like David Canary, Cameron Mathison, Walt Willey, Michael Nader, Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos, Jill Larson and Eden Riegel, plus Carol Burnett, and the show's creator and writer, Agnes Nixon.
