In an interview with "Access Hollywood", Ethan shared his thoughts on the show's final season.
"I am so proud of her. I am so proud of that whole group of people that made that show. I don't think people understand how difficult it is to make something that bold and that giant and that swashbuckling and have it resolve as beautifully as they did," Ethan said.
He added, "They took care of every character, obviously Robin is my favorite. I was so impressed with the whole thing. I was talking to her (Maya) this morning and I think in 20 years she's going to be amazed at what this moment in time means to this. It will be important for a long time."
Maya Hawke joined the hit Netflix series in Season 3, playing the sharp-tongued, quick-witted Robin, a coworker of fan-favorite character Steve. Robin was the first lesbian character to appear on the series and quickly became a mentor to Will as he went through his own coming-out journey is Season 5.
