ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Not a big storm by Western New York standards, but enough snow to make the Monday morning commute tricky. As a result, the News10 First Alert meteorologists have issued a yellow alert. This will be a general, area wide, light snowfall which should begin around 6:00 AM and move west to east through the morning. This snow will taper off to flurries during the early afternoon on Monday. New snow accumulation will be in the range of one to three inches. The recommendation is to plan on some extra time for your Monday morning travels.
Looking ahead, it appears that “old man winter” will be taking a break by the middle of the week. The bitter cold temperatures will relent starting Tuesday with more warmth likely continuing into the beginning of the weekend. Several days of unseasonably warm weather are likely for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. In fact, it will be warm enough for rain instead of snow. Not good news for the winter enthusiast, but certainly an opportunity to wash away some of the salt and ice.
