Bobby Lee Yount, Sr. age 63 of Smithville, passed away Thursday January 1, 2026, at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital ER. He was born November 13, 1962, to his parents the late Johnny Ray and Jere Lee Wallace Yount, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Dallas Yount. Mr. Yount was a tow truck driver and served in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife, Rosie Yount of Smithville; children, Bobby Yount, Jr of Smithville, Rebecca (Jesse) VanDyne of Smithville; grandchildren, Lillian and Andrew VanDyne; brothers, Johnny Yount, Jr. of Watertown, Benny Yount of Carthage, Roger (Kathy) Yount of GA, and Ricky (Kathy) Yount of Lebanon; sisters, Regina Yount of Lebanon, Beverly Yount of Nashville, Marsha Yount of Virginia and Kathy Yount. A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Monday January 5, 2026, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and Military Honors will be conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be Monday 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers the family has ask that donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Yount family.
