The chance of rain throughout Sunday in San Diego County is 50% in coastal, valley and mountain regions and 20% in the deserts, the National Weather Service said.
There is also a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Highs will be about 65 in the coastal and valley areas, 49 to 57 in the mountains and 68 to 73 in the deserts. South to southwest winds of 10 to 25 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph, are likely in the afternoon, the NWS said.
Lows Sunday night along the coast will range from 51 to 55.
The wet weather pattern that drenched much of San Diego County last week is expected to remain active with chances for showers across the region through Thursday, forecasters said. That will be followed by drier and warmer weather by the end of the week.
“There is a beach hazard warning for minor coastal flooding in low-lying, flood-prone area for high King Tides expected to peak at 6 to 7 feet through the weekend and ending Monday morning,” said NWS forecaster Chandler Price.
Chandler said there will be a wet-weather pattern that will persist into Monday. “We’re going to have several waves of pretty light showers moving through.”
