At Arizona State, he’ll replace Sam Leavitt — who reportedly has visited Kentucky on his own transfer portal journey — and try to help Kenny Dillingham’s Sun Devils return to the College Football Playoff.
Back in 2024, Arizona State surprised everyone by winning the Big 12 Championship and earning a first-round CFP bye. The Sun Devils faced former conference rival Texas in the Peach Bowl, and fought valiantly in the contest, but eventually fell to the Longhorns 39-31 in double overtime. This year, Leavitt dealt with injuries and only played in 7 games. In the process, his relationship with the school seemingly soured enough to lead to his transfer.
