Ankara, Jan. 4 (SANA) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced Saturday that the country’s exports reached the highest annual level in Turkey’s history in 2025.
“Turkish goods exports rose 4.5% year-on-year to $273.4 billion, while total exports of goods and services reached $396.5 billion,” Erdogan said in a speech, according to Anadolu Agency.
He added that the Turkish economy displayed a very successful performance in 2025, not only the growth figures but also the export figures demonstrate Turkey’s capacity. Erdogan also said that Turkey broke a new record in monthly exports and achieved 3.7% growth in the first three months of 2025, increasing the size of the economy from $1.26 trillion in 2024 to $1.538 trillion.
Highlighting strategic sectors, Erdogan noted that defense industry exports rose from $248 million in 2002 to $9.87 billion in 2025.
He said these results are the fruit of new economic initiatives, including the Medium-Term Program (MTP) adopted by Ankara, which aims to maximize exports, turn the current account deficit into a sustainable surplus, and demonstrate Turkey’s ability to adapt to global economic changes.
