He said the broadcaster would return with its renowned voice and modern audio visual presentation, becoming a fully integrated digital platform that conveys reality in sound and image while offering a new programming cycle.
“I discussed with General Organization of Radio and Television Director Alaa Barsilo and Deputy Director for Radio Affairs Mohammed al Sheikh the final launch date of Damascus Radio after months of preparation. Our date is Wednesday, February 4, 2026, marking the 79th anniversary of one of the Arab world’s oldest radio stations, which will resonate with a rich voice recalling the fragrance of the past and the promised future after the decisive revolution,” al Mustafa posted on platform X.
Al Mustafa added: “Damascus Radio will broadcast in its new audio visual format through available transmission stations, via a professionally designed website to carry its signal worldwide, and through supported platforms and applications.”
The minister noted that Damascus Radio will serve as a digital platform, relaying through its correspondents details of reality often unseen amid the flood of news. It will also have satellite capacity to function as a “television” outlet, while presenting a new programming cycle that draws on the beauty of the past and adds new dimensions.
Since its launch in 1947, Damascus Radio has accompanied Syrians, carrying with its voice the fragrance of memory and images woven from human reality, becoming part of their collective consciousness.
