Fans were thrilled to see Manilow sitting up and smiling.

"Oh Barry Manilow! We’ve all prayed for this and God answered our prayers as well as yours. May you continue to heal and be restored to new health. Blessings and Happy New Year. We Love You," one person wrote.

"I’ve loved you Barry for 50 years! My heart skipped a beat when I heard you were sick. So glad to see you are doing well and recuperating," someone else added.

"You don’t know how wonderful it is to wake up to this pic!! Been so worried about you!!!! Can’t wait to see you somewhere down the road," a third fan's comment read.

The update comes just about two weeks after Manilow announced that he'd been diagnosed with lung cancer. On Monday, Dec. 22, Manilow took to Instagram to share a statement about his health.

“We just finished five great Christmas concerts at the McCallum Theatre in Palm Desert," the statement began. "This marks the seventh time we have done these charity concerts and raised millions for nonprofit organizations throughout the Coachella Valley. "As many of you know, I recently went through six weeks of bronchitis followed by a relapse of another five weeks," he continued. "Even though I was over the bronchitis and back on stage at the Westgate Las Vegas, my wonderful doctor ordered an MRI just to make sure that everyone was OK. The MRI discovered a cancerous spot on my left lung that needs to be removed. It’s pure luck (and a great doctor) that it was found so early. That’s the good news."

Manilow went on to say that the "bad news" was that he was going to have to cancel some of his upcoming shows because he needed to undergo surgery.

It appears as though Manilow had his surgery and is feeling "better." He did not offer any further update on his diagnosis, nor did he share whether or not he will be needing any sort of additional treatment. His initial post indicated that the lesion found was operable and doctors did not think he would need chemotherapy or radiation.
