Which Denver Broncos can hit season-high milestones and contract incentives this week?

With one game left in 2025, multiple Denver Broncos can hit season-high milestones this week against the Chargers.

The Broncos have had many great individual performances this year on the way to going 13-3 and likely winning the No. 1 seed with a victory on Sunday.

Let’s take a minute to celebrate those possible milestones.

Which Denver Broncos can hit season-high milestones and contract incentives this week?

With 5 receptions, Adam Trautman could hit a contract incentive, and Jonathon Cooper would hit his on incentive with 3 sacks; while Bo Nix, Courtland Sutton, Nik Bonitto, Cooper, and Zach Allen could all reach single-season milestones.

While there are multiple Broncos with built-in contract incentives, only Trautman and Cooper are near enough to make some extra cash.

With 5 receptions, backup tight end Trautman would have 25 catches on the year, one of his incentive milestones.

And Bo Nix wants to get his guy paid.

“Yes, we always talk about that,” Nix said. “I think it’s part of the profession. You work this hard to get close and incentives are good. That’s why they put them in contracts. For ‘Traut,’ obviously, he would’ve never told us that. Nobody would’ve ever known if Coach hadn’t made it a big deal. But that’s just the kind of teammate he is. For me, it’s just understanding that. I’m going to try my best if it presents itself to get him those touches. We make jokes about that being his year total, but I can see him going for five catches easily. I just think it’s going to be a good fit for us, just a good counter.”

5 receptions would mean an extra $125,000 for Trautman, so keep an eye on him being a constant target against the Chargers.

On the defensive side of the ball, Cooper needs 11 sacks for both a single-season high and to hit his incentive. He also has incentives for 12, and 13 sacks if he were to really go crazy. If Cooper somehow racked up 5 sacks and finished with 13 on the season, that added with the Broncos making the playoffs, would give him an extra $2 million this year.

    Broncos going for single-season career-highs

Some Denver Broncos have already reached their single-season marks. Guys like RJ Harvey, a rookie, and fellow youngster Troy Franklin (2nd season) have surpassed their yard and touchdown numbers. With 80 yards on Sunday, Franklin would triple his yardage and touchdowns in this, his sophomore season, compared to his rookie campaign.

Bo Nix, too, has already surpassed last season’s passing yardage (3,790-3,775) and with 210 yards would hit 4,000 on the season. He also needs 5 passing touchdowns for 30, which would be a new single-season high for him. And, his 5 rushing TDs are a new high, while he’d need 124 rushing yards to pass that mark, which seems unlikely.

Courtland Sutton has already surpassed the 1,000-yard mark for the third time in his career, and with 101 receiving yards he’d have a new career-high for one year. He currently has 7 touchdowns, and a career-high of 10, so he needs 4 on Sunday to pass that. Not only is he enjoying one of his best seasons, his career is shaping up to be an all-time great for any Broncos receiver.

Zach Allen on the defensive line needs 2.5 sacks to pass his high of 8.5, set last season. He’s also got a personal best 45 QB hits this year already.

Nik Bonitto’s 26 QB hits are his career-high, and 1.5 sacks would give him 14, which would be his personal best for a year.

Bonitto, Cooper, and Allen have been dynamic and destructive for Denver’s defense the last two seasons. They’re their one-two-three punch that relentlessly pressures opposing quarterbacks; they’re a huge reason why the Broncos lead the league with 64.0 sacks. Which is also a team-high for a single season, passing last year’s record of 62.0.

Speaking of sacks, John Franklin-Myers has 7.5, a new single-season high for him. And Talanoa Hufanga’s 103 total tackles are the most he’s ever had.

    Prop bet possibilities

If you’re a betting sports fan, those incentives and career-highs are a chance to possibly put money down on individual performances.

5 receptions for Adam Trautman would tie his single-game high, which he last hit in Week 1 of the 2023 season.

Also, betting for 100 yards receiving for Courtland Sutton is another possibility, while keeping in mind he’s only had two 100-yard games this year.

Bo Nix going for 210 passing yards seems like a comfortable bet, and even parlaying that with one of the receivers’ numbers could turn into a nice return if they both hit.

Finally, there’s Cooper with 3 sacks, which seems like an even longer shot than Trautman with 5 receptions. But you never know.

The Broncos (13-3) face the LA Chargers (11-5) at 2:25 p.m. MT at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium on Sunday, Jan. 4.
