On Wednesday, Dec. 31, Gilbert took to Instagram with a joint post with the nonprofit organization NYCLASS (New Yorkers for Clean, Livable, and Safe Streets).

"?BIG NEWS! Last night, Mayor Eric Adams put forth a powerful executive order," the post update began. "This order finally provides real enforcement: horse owners who refuse basic health exams, including lameness evaluations and blood tests, will have their licenses revoked, and the City will no longer be enabling animal cruelty."
In the comments, Instagram users celebrated the accomplishment, with one writing, "Amazing! Thank you for all of your hard work. We must continue to fight."
