Patricia Heaton is honoring the 1-year anniversary of Linda Lavin's death.
The Everybody Loves Raymond actress took to social media this week to send a heartfelt message about Lavin, her late "TV mom," who died in December 2024 at age 87.

Heaton's Instagram post featured a montage of photo memories from her friendship with Lavin, as well a personal video message to pay tribute to the late actress.
"I just wanted to hop on here to commemorate a year since my friend, wonderful actress Linda Lavin left us," Heaton, 67, said in the touching video, adding, "She was so important to me starting out in my career. She cast me in my first regular role in a sitcom playing her daughter."

The way she was a leader on the set and her kindness, her work ethic, the way she treated everyone on the set with respect no matter what their job was, and her appreciation for life."
"I've carried that with me all these many years and I think—I hope—I think I'm a mentor to other younger people," Heaton said, noting that following in Lavin's footsteps has always been "so important" to her.
"One year since she left us," Heaton captioned the post on Friday, Jan. 2, uploaded a few days after the official 1-year anniversary of Lavin's death.
Lavin—who was also known for starring as the titular character in the sitcom Alice—died on Dec. 29, 2024, from complications of lung cancer.
"Forever grateful to Linda Lavin -who we lost way too soon," Heaton wrote in her post, which she concluded with, "So loved. So missed."
