Ree Drummond's second daughter, Paige Drummond Andersen, just announced via Instagram that she and her husband, David, have become parents...to a puppy. Murphy Andersen joined their clan just in time to welcome 2026.
The chocolate lab is set to be an important part of the couple's family. They wed on May 17, 2025, and just celebrated their first Christmas as a married couple at their new Texas home and Murphy is their first dog together.
To celebrate, Andersen took to Instagram to share a carousel of photos of her new baby boy. In an accompanying caption, she wrote, "Can’t think of a better way to start the New Year! Welcome home, Murphy!!"

Ree Drummond said of her newest four-legged grand dog, who joins Alex's beloved George, "He's such a dreamboat!!! Murphy!!!" Andersen's husband David wrote proudly, "That's my boy."
Andersen's Grandmother Patsy wrote, "Papa Bill said to tell you we’re happy to have another great-grandchild! He’s so cute!!! Lucky puppy! I love his name." Her brother Bryce Drummond simply penned, "Murfff!"
In a post on The Pioneer Woman website, it was revealed that Andersen and her husband picked up Murphy in Southern Texas, and their four-legged family member promptly slept all the way back to his new home in Dallas. Drummond wrote in an essay, "I had gotten Paige a fuzzy throw for Christmas, and the color wasn't accidental. She texted me on Murphy's first night and reported that he'd snuggled into the blanket as if it were his brother. (He also likes taking naps under the coffee table!)"
She added, "What an absolute cutie...and I can totally understand why Paige was drawn to a brown lab. Some of you who have read my website since the very early days might remember Bob, our old brown lab, who constantly carried either a Dr Pepper can or a wood log around in his mouth. With all of the nostalgia and memories from Bob, along with the puppylicious cuteness of Murphy, I think Paige is in love already."
