On Friday morning, USA Hockey announced its roster for the 2026 Winter Olympics. Not a lot of huge surprises here.
No Blackhawks for USA Hockey
The Blackhawks once again do not have a player on an Olympic roster. There was consideration for Frank Nazar and Alex Vlasic after they helped lead USA Hockey to gold at the men’s World Championship, but Nazar’s injury and the overall depth on the back end for the Americans made it hard for either of them to make the cut.
If there’s one omission Blackhawks fans can be upset about it’s Spencer Knight not being selected as one of the three goalies. He’s been exceptional for most of this season. But, again, it’s hard to argue against the three guys who got an invite. And I’m sure Knight is at/near the top of the list if there’s an injury between the pipes.
