Actor Anthony Stewart Head is mourning the loss of his longtime partner, animal welfare advocate Sarah Fisher, who has died at age 61.
The couple’s daughters, Emily and Daisy, announced the devastating news in a post shared on Fisher’s Facebook page.
Dear all, this is Emily and Daisy, Sarah's daughters. We are so sorry to have to share the news that our extraordinary, kind and talented mother, Sarah, passed away recently. It is immensely shocking to us all, and came with very little warning.
No words could ever express all that she encompassed, or begin to describe the crater her absence has left. We know how profoundly she has impacted the lives of so many, and we couldn't be more proud of the legacy she is leaving behind. We only wish she'd had more time to share her knowledge and brilliance with us, and the world.
Our grief knows no bounds, nor did the reaches of her incredibly unique and irreplaceable spirit.

We know how much she treasured the relationships she had with all of her friends, colleagues and collaborators, many of whom she stayed in contact with here, and we thank you all for being a part of her enriched life.

Friends and family flooded the comments with messages of love and support.

“All my love to you, girls! You have a very special mother, and she will always be there with you in some way!” wrote one.
Another shared, “Oh my goodness I am so sorry for your loss, she was one of a kind sending so much love to you all????.”
A third added, “No! I am so desperately sad to read this, and my thoughts are with you all.”
And another wrote, “So very sorry to hear this saddest of news. Sending heartfelt condolences, hugs & love to you & your family x.”
Tributes have also poured in from across the animal welfare and behavior community, where Fisher was widely respected for her groundbreaking work.

Battersea Dogs and Cats Home honored Fisher on Instagram, writing, "We’re truly sorry to lose our beloved friend and Ambassador Sarah Fisher and send our deepest sympathies to Sarah’s partner Anthony, her daughters, and her family and friends. Sarah, alongside her partner Anthony Head, gave so much to our charity, fostering dogs, using her canine behaviour expertise to train our staff and volunteers, and contributing in so many ways to make a real difference in animal welfare. She will be dearly missed by all of us at Battersea. ?.”
Dog trainer Annie Phenix wrote, "I have no words. I am in shock. We all are who knew Sarah Fisher - from afar or those of us who had the great good fortune of meeting her. I wish I could hug her family and her animal friends. I hope they feel the worldwide affection for their amazing, industry-changing mother. What a legacy you left for us, Sarah. ❤️?What a loss."
TV personality and pet expert Victoria Stilwellshared a lengthy tribute, calling Fisher “a fiercely loving mother, the ultimate advocate for animals’ wellbeing, and a truly irreplaceable light in our world.” Stilwell credited Fisher with shaping her career and described her as “one of the true ‘good guys.’”

According to the BBC, Fisher lived in Bath, England, with Head and ran Tilley Farm, a sanctuary for rescued horses, ponies, and donkeys. She also founded Animal Centred Education, which supported the needs of dogs and other animals, and was a patron of several animal charities.
Pauline Leeson, founder of Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary, described Fisher as “the most genuine, caring and compassionate human being,” adding that she “will be remembered with much love for all her outstanding work.”
Head, 71, is best known for his roles on Ted Lasso and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He and Fisher shared daughters Emily and Daisy and lived together in Somerset, England.
As tributes continue to pour in, those who knew Fisher remember her not only for her advocacy but for the lasting legacy she leaves behind in the lives of animals and the people who loved her.
