Viewers of the 2026 Pasadena Rose Parade were absolutely "floored" by the finale performance from Capital Cities' Sebu Simonian, and not in a good way.
The musician wrapped up the two-hour-long annual event with a rendition of his hit "Safe and Sound," but the performance seemed to encounter several issues, from sound mixing (the instruments were very quiet) to timing (Simonian and other performers were often behind the beat) to the vocal performance itself.

Viewers quickly rushed to social media to share their disappointment. "Are y'all watching the Rose Parade? The finale singer has to be one of the worst I've heard in a long time…I'm FLOORED," said one, while another wrote, Yikes….what’s going on with the Rose Parade?" A third added, "That was a cringeworthy DISASTER musical end to the Rose Parade," while another dubbed it a "certified tough watch."
Many wondered where things went wrong, with one questioning, "Uh oh, Rose Parade sound guy... WTF happened?" while another suggesting, "the guy was off pitch and timing, the person on the trumpet couldn’t do it either."
One fan came up with a creative solution: "My son just muted the Rose Parade and started playing the studio version of 'Safe and Sound.'"

The 2026 Rose Parade had a lot more highs than lows. Though it was a rainy day in Pasadena, thousands came out for the annual event, which included incredible floats made from flowers, performances from incredible marching bands from around the country, and an opening performance of "River" from Bishop Briggs. American Idol runner-up, John Foster and Nashville-based pop country trio DEK of Hearts also performed.
