Fans of The Vampire Diaries are watching their favorite stars enter new chapters of life. Michael Trevino, who played Tyler Lockwood on the CW series, announced that he and his wife are expecting their first child together.
His model wife, Bregje Heinen, 32, shared the news on her Instagram with a black-and-white video documenting all the exciting moments of 2025. The couple got married last year in June in Spain in an elaborate wedding with the series cast in attendance.
The video announcement included a clip of Trevino's father giving his speech, in which he joked that he "would like to see a grandchild" before it cuts to an ultrasound appointment. Trevino and his wife are all smiles as they share that his wife is already five months pregnant, as they showed off her baby belly while taking photos in a photobooth.
"We’ve had a pretty great year… Promise this isn’t just another wedding video...," Heinen captioned the video with a white heart and baby emoji.
The Vampire Diaries cast was quick to hit the comments section to congratulate their fellow co-star on the start of his family.
"Perfect perfection," wrote Nina Dobrev.
"So so SOOOO excited for you guys!!!! Big love to you both Momma and Dada!" said Candice King, who is also expecting.
"Watched this on mute and started crying all over again, remembering how much I cried watching it all happen in real time. And then cried again at fun baby stuff at the end!!" said series executive producer Julie Plec.
It appears that Trevino's child will have a few Vampire Diaries play dates. Not only is King expecting, but so is their co-star, Kat Graham. She announced the news in early December and will be her first with husband Bryant Wood.
Trevino and Heinen got engaged on Christmas Eve in 2003, after first dating in 2020.
