From The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo to Daisy Jones & The Six to her latest best-seller, Atmosphere, Taylor Jenkins Reid has been one of the most popular and prolific authors of the past decade.
The 41-year-old scribe has released a whopping nine novels in the last 12 years (with a tenth on the way), and several of those have made their way from the page to the screen: Reid's 2016 romantic novel One True Loves was made into a 2023 film starring Phillipa Soo and Simu Liu, and the aforementioned Daisy Jones— a Fleetwood Mac-inspired epic about a rock-band breakup — was developed into an Emmy-winning Prime Video miniseries led by Riley Keough and Sam Claflin that same year.
And there will be plenty more where all that comes from — as of press time, there are screen adaptations of another five TJR books currently in development, a fact that tickles the author. “It’s a trip,” Reid told People in May 2025 about seeing her stories play out onscreen, adding: "I feel quite confident that every single person that I've chosen to oversee these adaptations is taking them so seriously [and] has such a sincerity. They’re all doing a very good job.”

TJR's first novel, Forever, Interrupted, is reportedly being turned into a Netflix limited series starring Oscar winner Laura Dern and Golden Globe nominee Margaret Qualley, per Deadline. The women will act as executive producers on the project, and Julia Bicknell (Yellowjackets, 13 Reasons Why) is also onboard to adapt the book and act as showrunner.
Like the book it's based on, Forever, Interrupted will feature a dual storyline. The story follows the whirlwind romance and equally swift nuptials between Elsie (played by Qualley) and Ben, a marriage cut tragically short when Ben is killed just days after their wedding. Those scenes are interwoven with Elsie's journey through grief and heartbreak alongside Ben's mother, Susan (Dern), who had no idea the elopement had even happened.
Netflix has not yet released the official premiere date for the limited series, and it does not seem like the adaptation is currently in production, so it might be a bit of a wait for this one.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo (TBA)
Since Netflix — clearly big Taylor Jenkins Reid fans — first announced their plans to adapt The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo into a film back in March 2022, there has been much speculation about which high-profile actress would take on the role of the book's titular heroine, with Jessica Chastain, Ana de Armas and Eiza González all in fan contention.
No official casting announcements have been made just yet for the historical drama — which is centered on the rise to fame and numerous marriages of reclusive Hollywood icon Evelyn Hugo — though we do know that filmmaker Maggie Betts has signed on to direct the flick, Liz Tigelaar (Little Fires Everywhere) is writing the script, and Reid herself is on hand as an executive producer.
Though Netflix acquired the rights to the film adaptation more than three years ago, production is still early days on this one, so a release date hasn't been announced yet.

Malibu Rising (TBA)
Reid's 2021 novel Malibu Rising centers on the four adult children of legendary singer Mick Riva — supermodel Nina, champion surfer Jay, renowned photographer Hud, and younger sister Kit — who throw an end-of-summer party in 1983 that ends up irrevocably changing their lives forever.
It's juicy stuff, so it wasn't much of a surprise when it was announced in June 2021 that Hulu was adapting the titillating tome into a TV series. As with Netflix's The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo adaptation, Hulu's take on Malibu Rising will see involvement from both the author as well as Liz Tigelaar. The project also does not have a set release date just yet.

Reid's first foray into the world of tennis is the sporty 2022 novel Carrie Soto is Back, which catches up with the titular character — a fiercely competitive former tennis champion — as she decides to come out of retirement at age 37 to reclaim her Grand Slam record, with her dad as her coach.
If that reminds you of a certain someone, it should: Tennis icon Serena Williams will reportedly be an executive producer on Netflix's upcoming series adaptation of the novel, which Deadline announced in April 2025. The project is in early stages, so no release date or official casting has been announced yet, though Amanda Kate Shuman (The Wheel of Time) has signed on as screenwriter and executive producer.

Atmosphere (TBA)
Reid’s newest book, Atmosphere, has only been on shelves for six months and already it's been picked up for a silver-screen adaptation.
According to Variety, the 1980s-set novel — which orbits around physics professor Joan Goodwin, who's training to become one of NASA's first female astronauts, and her secret romance with another woman in the program — will be adapted by filmmaking duo Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Freaky Tales, Captain Marvel) and produced by LAIKA Studios.
As is the case with the rest of Reid's page-to-screen adaptations, there has been no release date or cast list mentioned so far for the Atmosphere film. Parade will keep you up to date on all things related to the movies and TV series inspired by Taylor Jenkins Reid's books.
