Legendary West Side Story actor Russ Tamblyn is continuing his journey into his nineties in style!
The actor, who rose to stardom in roles in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and Peyton Place, solidified his place in America's hearts as Riff, the leader of the Jets street gang in the beloved 1961 film version of West Side Story starring Natalie Wood and Richard Beymer. Tamblyn, who turned 91 on Tuesday, went on to a successful choreography career in his post-West Side Story years, but continued to act with a run in David Lynch's cult-favorite series, Twin Peaks. But these days, many also know of Tamblyn as the father of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants actress and author Amber Tamblyn. Amber took to Instagram to honor her father in an epic throwback photo that shows off the duo's touching relationship.

Elvis Presley Once Trashed His Home
In his 2024 memoir, Dancing on the Edge, Tamblyn shared how he let Elvis Presley stay at his home while the legendary musician was preparing to make the 1957 film, Jailhouse Rock. While it was supposed to be a quiet getaway while Tamblyn was out of town, it didn't turn out that way. Presley and his entourage left the place a mess.
"My house was a total shambles," Tamblyn recalled, PEOPLE reported. "Half-eaten peanut-butter-and-banana sandwiches had been left just about everywhere, even down inside the bedsheets and in the drawers of the bedside tables."
Presley left broken glass shards all over the floor from drinking glasses, as well as plenty of trash.
"So much for what Elvis had originally asked of me (a quiet getaway, my ass!)," Tamblyn wrote.
However, Tamblyn noted that Presley at least apologized profusely.
"He apologized profusely and admitted things had gotten a little out of hand," he wrote. "He had his manager, Colonel Tom Parker, send me a check to cover the damages. Of course, most of the money went to the owner, so I could avoid being evicted."
