Striving for imprefection: My wishes for you next year(a classic)

This has been a year. Oy vey; such a year! Although on the grand scheme of things, January 1 doesn’t really change anything that’s happening and certainly doesn’t adjust the trajectory of current events, there’s a symbolism to the flipping the page on a calendar. So, as we step into 2025, I’ve put together a hopeful bouquet of wishes. Think of this as a checklist of joy, a sprinkling of stardust to guide you through the next 365 days. May next year bring you moments that make your heart race, your soul sigh, and your spirit soar.

Here’s to all the good I hope we find over the next year.

Morning Sunshine That Feels Like a Hug: May your mornings be wrapped in the golden glow of the sun. The kind of light that spills through the window and gently kisses your face, saying, “Rise and shine—you’ve got this!”

Laughter That Echoes: The kind that bubbles up unexpectedly—at a friend’s joke, a silly meme, or that one story you’ve heard a million times but somehow still cracks you up.

Books That Sweep You Away: May you find stories that grip your soul, make you laugh, and maybe even inspire you to jot down a few words of your own.

Adventures You’ll Always Remember: Whether it’s a weekend road trip, a hike along a Northcoast trail, or a spontaneous night out, I hope you collect memories that make your heart race a little faster.

Dreams That Keep Growing: I hope that whatever dreams are tucked away in your heart sprout like wildflowers. May you nurture them, chase them, and watch them bloom.

Moments of Awe: I wish you starlit skies, roaring oceans, and sunsets that paint the world in colors you didn’t know existed.

Kind Strangers: The ones who hold the door, share a smile, or help you carry something heavy when you least expect it. May their kindness remind you that, despite how it sometimes feels, the world remains full of good people.

Celebrations, Big and Small: Birthdays, promotions, retirement – whatever milestones you reach – I hope they’re toasted with joy and shared with the ones who make you happiest.

The Perfect Playlist: I hope your year comes with a soundtrack—those songs that make you want to dance, sing in the car, or just fill your heart with happiness while you stare out the window at a rainy afternoon.

Good Surprises: The kind that make you gasp, laugh, and maybe cry happy tears — a thoughtful gift, an unexpected visit, or even finding $20 in an old jacket.

Friendships That Feel Like Home: May you be surrounded by people who get you—the ones who can finish your sentences, make you laugh until your sides hurt, and stick by you through thick and thin.

Moments of Stillness: Life can be noisy, but I hope you carve out little pockets of peace—those quiet moments where you can just breathe, think, and be.

Opportunities to Grow: In work, in love, in creativity, in life. I hope 2025 is a year of stretching your wings and soaring higher than ever.

Delicious Meals: I hope you savor dishes that make your taste buds dance, from home-cooked comfort food to meals that feel like art on a plate.

Beautiful Connections: With family, old friends, new acquaintances, and maybe even yourself. May these bonds remind you of the joy of being human.

An Overflowing Gratitude Jar: Literal or metaphorical, may you have so many good things to be thankful for that you lose track of them all.

A Cozy Sanctuary: Be it a tiny corner of your home or your entire space, may you have a place that feels like your personal haven.

Big, Bold, Brave Choices: I hope you find the courage to take leaps of faith, to say yes to the unknown, and to believe in yourself even when it’s scary.

Moments to Shine: Whether it’s nailing a presentation, scoring a goal, or just owning your truth, I hope you feel proud of who you are and what you bring to the table.

Strength for the Tough Days: Because they’ll come, as they always do. But I hope you find the courage to face them head-on, knowing brighter days are just around the corner.

A Love That Lights You Up: Romantic, platonic, or self-love—I hope it fills your heart, lifts your spirit, and reminds you that you are deeply worthy of all the love the world has to offer.

Unexpected Joy: May you stumble upon little things that light up your day—wildflowers by the road, a double rainbow, or a random act of kindness that makes you smile.

A Year That Feels Like a Gift: Because it is. Every moment of 2025 is a blank page, waiting for you to write your story. May it be one filled with wonder, laughter, and all the good things you deserve.

Happy holidays. I’m going to take a few weeks off. See you in January.
