AGADIR, Morocco, Dec 29 (MENA) – Egypt’s national football team played to a goalless draw against Angola on Monday evening at Adrar Stadium in the final match of Group B at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Egypt had already secured a place in the round of 16 as Group B leaders following victories in their first two matches: a 2-1 win over Zimbabwe and a 1-0 win against South Africa, giving them seven points at the top of the group.
Coach Hossam Hassan fielded a lineup of substitutes against Angola, with Mostafa Shobier in goal, supported by Khaled Sobhi, Hossam Abdel Meguid, Ahmed Eid, Mohamed Ismail, Ahmed Fattouh, Mohand Lashien, Mahmoud Saber, Ibrahim Adel, Salah Mohsen and Mostafa Mohamed.
In the second half, Hassan made three substitutions, bringing in Yasser Ibrahim, Mostafa Fathi and Ahmed Sayed Zizo for Mohamed Ismail, Mostafa Mohamed, and Mahmoud Saber. A fourth change followed with Mohamed Shehata replacing injured Mohand Lashien.
