Jamie-Lynn Sigler and her husband Cutter Dykstra share two wonderful children—but at one point, they thought their family might be complete with one more.
During an episode of her MeSsy podcast with co-host Christina Applegate, the actress, 44, opened up about her decision not to have a third child. Sigler, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) when she was just 20-years-old, says the condition played a big role in making that choice.
"Cutter and I really decided fully not to have another child because I just knew at that point with my MS that I wouldn't be able to take care of the baby independently, the way I wanted to, and the way I was able to with my boys," she shared on the episode, which aired on Tuesday (Dec. 30).

While she said it was the right decision for her family, Sigler stressed that it was not the case for all people with MS. And although it can be difficult, she says that "setting boundaries, asking for help, getting support [and] advocating for yourself" made all the difference in raising her children.
"But I don’t think you should ever let MS stop you from big things...Like, if you have the calling of wanting another child, you'll figure out a way. One thing I think MS gives you is the ability to adjust and figure out another way," Sigler shared.
Sigler, who previously told People that it's very possible to have a "very healthy pregnancy [and] healthy delivery" with MS, also reminded listeners that "asking for help and advocating for yourself doesn't make you weak"—and is important for any parent.
