Jake Paul Sends Message After Fiancées Unfortunate Olympic Incident

Jake Paul quickly showed his support for fiancée Jutta Leerdam after she suffered what she called an “unfortunate” moment during Olympic speed skating trials, an incident that briefly put her Olympic future at risk.

As uncertainty surrounded Leerdam’s qualification for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, Paul shared a simple but emotional message.

Paul posted a video of Leerdam on his Instagram Story and wrote, “So proud of you warrior Jutta Leerdam.”

The five-word message came shortly after Leerdam revealed she had fallen during the 1,000-meter race at the Dutch Olympic Trials, her strongest event, nearly costing her a spot in the Games.

The moment was difficult for the Dutch speed skating star, who is a two-time world champion and an Olympic silver medalist.

Leerdam explained the situation herself on Instagram, sharing several photos from the trials and opening up about the emotional weekend. She said she “will most likely” see fans at the Olympics in Milan for the 500-meter event, even though the fall happened during her best distance, the 1,000 meters.

“A very unfortunate moment during my best distance, the 1000m on Friday,” Leerdam wrote. “Now we wait and hope I get the opportunity to skate the distance I’ve won multiple World Cup golds in this season.”

She admitted she was still in shock and overwhelmed by the reaction online, adding that she had never received so many supportive messages before. According to Leerdam, that support meant more to her than she could fully explain.

Despite the fall in the 1,000 meters, Leerdam’s Olympic dream did not end there. Just days later, she returned to the ice for the 500-meter qualifier and delivered a strong performance, finishing second with a time just over 37 seconds. That result kept her in contention to represent the Netherlands at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

The final decision now rests with the Dutch Olympic selection committee, which is expected to announce its choice in early January. Even though she did not automatically qualify, Leerdam remains a strong candidate due to her past success and current form.

Leerdam also spoke about her confidence, saying she knows what she is capable of and feels strong in practice.

Paul and Leerdam have been together since 2023 and announced their engagement in March 2025. Over time, fans have seen them support each other through wins, losses and high-pressure moments.

As the Olympic decision approaches, Leerdam continues to train and wait, while Paul stays firmly in her corner.
